I was very skeptical at first about Twitter.
I really could not care less if someone was having coffee at Starbucks or walking their dog.
I follow people that send interesting thoughts, articles and breaking news (could be a blog post). It's a way of being "in the know" and taking a pulse.

Huh, I'm starting to feel like I'm out of the loop. I'm usually an early adopter of such new fangled techie stuff all the kids are into these days, but I haven't done twitter yet. Maybe I should jump on the bandwagon too.

I started using twitter socially. My husband was using it all the time, I thought it was weird and figured I would check it out. And it was weird, but fun too.
My use had declined in the past month or so- I need to pick it back up! I have found it to be great for keeping in touch, socially and professionally, and have met some people here in Chicago I wouldn't have known about otherwise.

I use it personally and professionally. I see no functional use but to add to my already out-of-control addiction to social and professional instantaneous networking.
It gives me some false sense that I have a clue of what's going on with my friends. It's absurd.
